Hello! My name is Avery Fulmore, and I am a freshman. I was born and raised in Louisville, KY, and music has always been a part of my life. My aunt played the violin in the professional orchestra in my city, which led me to want to play the violin, as well. I played for about three years, starting when I was 11. I also picked up the ukulele and piano around that time, but never got super good at them! I've always enjoyed listening to different types of music, and it's been a type of comfort for me growing up!
I am also majoring in Psychology, and am a part of the field hockey team here at Converse!
1. My current go-to!
This has been one of my favorite songs for a few years now, it is called Real Love Baby by Father John Misty. I would say it is more in the alternative genre, and it has a very calming vibe to it! The tempo is on the slower side. I would always listen to this song on car rides, doing homework, and my favorite place to listen to it at was the beach. This is one of the songs I will listen to when I am just relaxing by myself!
2. Music that is important to me!
Rag doll by Aerosmith is not only one of my favorite songs, but also a very important song to me. I was introduced to this song by my dad, which is why it is so important. Whenever he would pick me up from school in elementary and middle, he would always play this song! I have always liked the old rock genre because of my dad, but this song has always specifically stuck with me. This song has a really good beat and a decently fast tempo.
3. Music I do not really connect with!
A few genres of music I don't connect with would be heavy/death metal and classical music. For me, heavy metal is a little too intense, and the tempo is a little too fast. With classical music, I connect more to songs that have words, and not so string instrument oriented. The song I attached is just a heavy metal song on youtube, as I do not really know any specific songs. It is from a band named DARK EMBRACE.
Hi Avery! I can agree with you on heavy metal. It's just something that I can't connect with. I've tried so many times to try and get into it and it's just not my vibe either. Real Love Baby is such a good song! I've heard it so many times but I could never figure out who it was by. Also, thank you for sharing that memory of you and your dad. That's so sweet and I love that y'all have a special song with each other. Thank you so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHi Avery, I like post number two as it definitely is a good song to listen to and i like how its also important to you because you dad had you listen to it and it means you have memories with your dad through music which is very powerful in its self that music can have that effect just by sharing it with your love ones. Number 3 I found the most interesting too because I also don't like that kind of music and I think it is either you love that type of music or you don't, me personally, I think it is to hectic for me to listen to.
ReplyDeleteHi Avery! I completely agree with you about not being able to connect with heavy metal. I do not understand how to really enjoy it with all of the yelling it sometimes has. I love how you mentioned you like Aerosmith because of your dad introducing it. I definitely want to look into listening to more Aerosmith in the future.
